Nesting the Shadow is a general designation encompassing the entire Autamatic drawing mechanism. An open ended contextual framework needed to account for all that has been explored thus far and all that will be explored in the future.
Automatism is a way of drawing that allows one to step outside of mundane thought processes and access parts of the mind that are generally reserved for dreaming and meditative practices. This is a way of stepping beyond the veils of illusory reality and burning away the hindrance of agreed upon truths.
These drawings represent personal idea exploration almost entirely. However, this drawing practice is one of the richest sources of imagery for commissioned illustrations. These drawings also give a good idea of what to expect with second stage renderings following the selection from loose sketches.
