These are drawings that refer to relationships. Some verge on family portraits. Others explore the metaphorical similarities between social structures /group psychology and forces of nature / interacting systems of natural forces. Generally they are allegorical scenarios that operate at a mundane level as well as at a level of abstracted scientific illustration. Chemical reaction and microbic ecosystems masquerade as individuals from my life and archetypical characters to play out melodramatic scenarios. Some are plain, old-fashioned ghost stories. All of them meditate upon the dynamics of interactions in general. The presentation is meant to reflect the wall of family photographs in my Grandma Verda's cabin.
I am interested in collapsing the vast transition between the universe of subatomic mist and the experiential world of thought processing, microcosmic level interactions and emotional melodramas.
